| Now, imitating something is similar to copying something. | Agora, imitar algo é semelhante a copiar algo. |
| Usually, imitating is copying actions or words so this technique is all about copying something that a native speaker is saying, exactly. | Normalmente, imitar é copiar ações ou palavras, então esta técnica se baseia exatamente em copiar o que um falante nativo está dizendo. |
| It teaches you to listen to the sounds and patterns of English and trains you to make those same sounds yourself. | Ela te ensina a ouvir os sons e os padrões do inglês e treina a sua boca para reproduzir esses mesmos sons. |
| You're training your mouth with your ears. | Você estará treinando sua boca com os seus ouvidos. |

| By practising with this technique, you'll reduce your accent and pronunciation problems more quickly and become a clearer and more confident English speaker. | Praticando com esta técnica, você reduzirá seu sotaque e os problemas de pronúncia mais rapidamente, além de se tornar um falante de inglês mais claro e confiante. |
| Now, there are three steps that you'll need to remember when you're using the imitation technique. | Agora, existem três etapas que você precisa lembrar ao usar a técnica de imitação. |
| First, you'll need to listen to me and read the text at the same time. | Primeiro, você precisa me ouvir e ler o texto ao mesmo tempo. |
| So when I talk on this video you'll see the words come up at the bottom of the screen. | Quando eu falo neste vídeo, as palavras aparecerão na parte inferior da tela. |
| In the text, the important stress has been marked so you'll be able to hear the stresses in my expression and read them as well. | No texto, as ênfases importantes estarão marcadas, então você poderá ouvir os pontos de estresse na minha expressão e também lê-los. |
| Then, it will be your turn! | Depois, será a sua vez! |
| So you're going to hear me read each sentence again but there will be a pause after each one and this is where you'll need to copy exactly what I've said. | Então, você vai me ouvir ler cada frase novamente, mas haverá uma pausa após cada uma, e esse será o momento em que você precisará copiar exatamente o que eu disse. |

| Then the bigger challenge is for you to shadow me, which is to copy everything that I'm saying again but this time you won't have any text on the screen, you're just listening to the words that I'm saying. | A terceira e maior dificuldade será o "sombramento" (shadowing), onde você copiará tudo o que estou dizendo novamente, mas desta vez, sem nenhum texto na tela – você apenas ouvirá as palavras que estou dizendo. |
